Windows 7 at D6 Conference

So I’ve just been checking out the much hyped news that Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer will be showing off Windows 7 and annoucing it officially at the D6 conference and like most of the other people who have looked this up since its publish online during the night are dismayed by the lack of information they actually gave.

Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 Review

A few days ago I saw that Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 was being made publicly available so I thoguht I would give it a stab and see if Microsoft had done any good with this, because I personally feel that IE7 wasn’t released all that long ago and there wasn’t really much need for a new browser jsut yet.

Keeping Up to Date with SyncToy

Another technology blog for the masses (or the one person that probably looks at my blog once a year), and this one is a little gem.

I first thought I could map a network drive between his home PC and his laptop then use Offline Files in Windows XP to syncronize the folders, but then I thought this method would be cumbersome and difficult to keep going for somebody who doesn’t know XP so well.

My second thought was to build a script for him which he could just double click to copy everything from his home PC to his laptop, but whilst this would have been effective, if his requirements for transfer changed, it would have needed me to ammend the script for him to inclde the new files/folders.
