Long Time No Post, but PDC Rocks

So it’s been a while since I wrote anything on here since my latest outbursts against Virgin Media due to their inability to provide us with broadband, and low and behold we still don’t have our super fast 20MB internet.

Virgin rescheduled us for late October and the day before the appointment called to cancel because there is no T-Piece outside our property and they need to get council planning permission to install the piece so we are now going to be waiting until November 14th.

Why on earth they couldn’t have just seen in advance that they needed this piece and that they could have done the work in the three weeks between our first and most recent appointments I don’t know! Bless their little cotton socks.

So I got my Honda CBR-125R-K5 last weekend thanks to some help from our friend Mr Gaz and have been riding it to work every day this week which has been great and it’s saving me a lot of time and I’m feeling more and more confident riding it as each day passes by.

Work is going well and I think I may even be slowly turning Tony in the office towards the way of the Microsoft – I’ll get there one day Big Steve don’t you worry although nothing more can be said for the new sales guy in the office with the Apple sticker on the front of his presenter folder – Bless him too 🙂

So last night I watched some of the footage from Microsoft’s PDC2008 conference and there was lots to wow at especially the video I watched with Mark Russinovich speaking on Windows 7 after PDC about changes to the Windows Vista/2008 kernel to improve it for Windows 7 and I say hats off to the work the guys in the Windows team have been doing for Windows 7 and Windows Azure, although I would have liked to have seen something on the Windows Mobile 7 subject covered at PDC but maybe I will be wowed for my mobile device at WinHEC coming up soon.

The only thing I do want to complain about is I want Microsoft T-Shirts!
At PDC and at Mix’08 which I watched some of earlier in the year you see all these Microsoft guys wearing cool T-Shirts like a Live Mesh T-Shirt and the IE8 T-Shirts, but none of them are available it would seem. The MCP E-Store has some of the I’m A PC T-Shirts which I really want to get my hands on, but how cool would I be walking around in an IE8 T-Shirt!

Microsoft….read this and send me T-Shirts please!

Until next time x
