First Tooth, Busy Day

I haven’t blogged anything in quite a while now, so I thought I would write one about the fun of today.

It’s half term this week for swimming so there wasn’t any getting up early to get out of the house and get ready to go swimming with the girls. No, instead Maddy woke up at about 6.30am and with me not being on any kind of plain of reality, my brain assumed it was a work day, so without thinking about it, I got up and got in the shower and upon returning to the bedroom I noticed it wasn’t even 7am by this point.

I decided that I’d go downstairs at that point as I’d promised Nicky a lie in today.

The day ended up being mostly spent in the garden even though we were supposed to tidy the house, but in the end we got most of the house tidying done and the extra stuff in the garden.

I cut back and uprooted pretty much all of the weed/plant that was overtaking the right side of the garden while Nicky replanted some plants – Yes, we have plants that may even produce flowers that look nice unlike a Daisy or some other unofficial weed.

After killing back all of the plant stuff, I pulled out the old wire fence that served no purpose on the left side of the garden, so the proper wooden fence can be reached now so at some stage I buy some of the spray-on fence stain to give the garden a bit of life in it.

After doing all of this I was planning on going to the tip to dump all of the cuttings etc of the day but Nicky suggested burning some of it up, but then realised we had nothing to burn it in until superdad came up with the genius plan of doing it in the BBQ which we where throwing out anyway. About 45mins later all of the stuff from the back right corner of the garden which was all dried out and ergh was gone and replaced with a streaming pile of ash and charcoal which will be used to fertilize the soil in the border on the other side.

After coming back from the dump, I gave Jessica her dinner wile Nicky sorted out Maddy. While me and Jessie where waiting for mummy to bring over the bowl of dinner she was eating my hand as she does when I felt something really sharp. I had another feel and yes, I thought I could – Jessica cut her first tooth today. It’s only about 2mm above the surface of her gum, but it’s not the point – It’s still her first tooth, with many more to come soon.

Tomorrow were heading over to Mick’s where god permitting I will finally get to play on the ride-on lawnmover and cut down the god knows how many arces of land or should I say jungle.

Until next time x
