Mothers Day

Today’s mothers day and I must say a pleasant one it has been despite Dan’s best efforts :-P

The day started out well with us both being woken by the sound of the telephone to hear Dave telling me not to forget the clocks went forward a hour overnight, so our nice and early 9am alarm turned into a oh dear were going to be late call! Get to Totton, and ah – Dad and Angie out shopping but they arrived soon enough for Nicky to gets her TENS machines, so that’ll help ease the pain which is good for her and me! A very nice meal at the Coach and Horses was tailed off by a nice relax and unwind in the spa-pool at mum’s before facing the grid-locked M3 which seemed to be going at about 25 MPH for no reason – Nicky got some sleep out of it though (hard life for some :-P ).

Yesterday was a good day for us – Me especially: We arranged out joint accounts and I got my manbag, a pair of DC’s and a hat for holiday. Also got a couple of T-Shirts in some sales too, so I was a very happy man that day despite having to carry all the bags plus the other stuff we’d bought :-P

Friday night was a taste of what to come with it being Mick’s Birthday, the 3 1/2 of us went to a delicious restaurant in Basingstoke called La Tasca – Blog readers will remember that one from our 6 month anniversary dinner. We shared some tapas, drank some red wine, I uttered the words “I like this salad” and I also tried a couple of new fishes to Nicky’s amazement. Mick can be found at home playing with his nice new HP printer for the next week or two if anyone gets concerned enough to report him as a missing person :-)

However: Besides the weekend, nothing much to report – No fancy scans or appointments this week, however the purchase of the baby carrier did bring hours or fun to myself while trying to work out how to use it and how to strap it all on – I even tried to test-drive it on the cat, but Nicky didn’t rate that idea too highly.

Routine check-up with the GP tomorrow, and Nicky’s car MOT.

Until next time x x

Intertron

Hello Everyone!! Finally we have the internet – Woooooooo!!!Well, lots happened, we have moved for starters, into our lovely house, which we love and seems that everyone else does too. It’s very cosy and we are almost settled already and the kitties love it, just a few more requests to Rich’s Dad and we’ll be sorted ;)

Bump is growing loads! Everything is more of an effort now and backache and heartburn is a pain! But I hear that heartburn means lots of hair, and with the amount I get I am expecting it to come out looking like cousin it! But I can feel parts of him properly now, if he moves into and uncomfortable position I can pretty much move the offending knee or elbow to a more comfy place, and starting to notice his routine a bit more now! Seems to be he gets more energetic around food times (reminds me of someone else :p)

I’m hoping we can start updating this every week now seeing as much more is happening all the time now and we might start to have a bit more time to ourselves…I also hope soon we can get a video of my belly moving, I’m really hoping to spot a foot or something soon…

Anyway seeing as I am probably repeating everything Rich has been writing I’ll stop for now and put some more stuff up later in the week with some more pics of the house hopefully…

Nicky x

Long Time Coming

Well it’s been a long time: Just over a month in fact but hello all. A long month it has been but an eventful one. In the space of the last month, there’s been the house move, sorting everything in the house out and getting stuff ready so that we can actually start our lives.

I’m sure you’ll all have seen the pictures of the baby’s nursery on the house section, but they’ll be more pictures coming soon and once I can get my hands on a tripod for the camera, I’ll be making virtual tours for each room, so you’ll be able to look around the rooms as if you where stood in the middle of the room, and looking around in person.

Life is going great for all three of us: Midwife appointments say all is well and Nicky is doing great, and so am I.

We’ve all settled into the house perfectly, and we have everything around us we want and need including the love and support of everyone else. We’ve had everyone in close proximity up to see the house now, and everyone that’s been seems to love the place just like we do and the place has a great warming effect on everyone.

We’ve got broadband and telephone sorted now so I’m happy – Got our cosy lounge for us and everyone who comes over to enjoy – Got our big silver fridge with enough room for anything we could ever want to store (thanks to me for fixing it :-) ) which means Nicky and I can entertain guests and all you lovely people who get to see us. We’ve got a garden that we can’t use at the moment, but in about 2 weeks time the door will be getting replaced with a nice new UPVC one which means I should be able to get out there and start developing some green fingers :-) We’ve got our desk and our PC’s setup and we’ve got our bedroom mostly sorted, which is very cosy, and I can’t help but fall asleep within seconds of my head hitting the pillow. Best of all though as you can imagine is the baby’s bedroom. Makes me really smile to see what we’ve both achieved with the room.

Fitness: Not one of my great subjects, but we’ve joined the local gym place called Aquadrome and we’ve got a swimming membership – Great for Nicky and bump and good for me which is good for all of us in that case. Work? The potential for a move to a new location in Farnborough with Xerox looks very promising, so all ears and eyes open there and we’ll see what happens.

Besides that, for the minute I’m done talking, but I’m sure I’ll be back in the week with more to say, as after all – I am trying to do a months worth of talking in one go. For now though, night x
