The Lurg and New Silver Things

Long time no blog baby-green followers. It’s been a slow week this week with the lurg going around between myself and Nicky, so Monday and Tuesday mainly consisted of sleeping and resting to recover.

We went to my mums for dinner and I over gorged on Lasagne leaving a nice bloated feeling. Saturday saw me getting my Bluetooth handsfree fitted to my car, so now I can talk to all you lovely people without even the need for wires etc and does fancy stuff with talking and computer voices especailly to scare the unsuspecting.

Saturday we went ove my Aunties for dinner as I don’t get to see them often enough and Nicky had never seen there house, so an experience for all. The drive home, and then up early to Maidenhead to see Nicky’s mum and Debbie, Narla and Caleb for Narla’s birthday. Early rise and weekends aren’t a good plan for someone with the lurg though I must say!

Besides germs, all is well in Richard, Nicky and bump land. Some purchases have been made since last blog, so were on our way to filling up our lovely new house. Bought ourselves some cordless DECT house phone things, that actually more resemble mobile phones, sporting colour screens and god knows what fancy stuff. Now also have our Britta kettle and our 4 slice toaster-come-spacecraft from Mars, so that’s that sorted, and collected our kitchen knives today – Interestingly made by the same people as the fancy Swiss army knives but they look the business :-)

As for baby – Think we’ve finally managed to decide on a boy’s name – Almost, although not gonig to say anything to anyone yet in-case we change our minds, and as for decoration: We’ve decided on a dresser/changer unit to get but seems that Mam’s and Papa’s change there colour availabilty and collections etc more often then I do my underwear, so going to have to check up on that one tomorrow, and now just got to hope that they don’t decide to change any of the other styles and ranges and colours etc that we’ve chosen to match the dresser otherwise its back to the drawing board for the whole thing! If your interested the collection were after is Zeddy and Rhubharb: More details to follow on that front though. Well I think I’ve written enough for about a weeks worth of blog here so TTFN or Bye even x x

4D Scan

Well what a weekend! Obviously the highlight was the 4d scan on Saturday. Baby didn’t wanna be seen at first, twice I went in and got sent away cos it was facing the wrong way, but finally we got it to turn around and face the camera! What an amazing sight, as you can probably tell from the pics we put up. We found out the sex too, unfortunately I think the woman had seen so many people that morning but so many had been facing the wrong way she forgot who wanted to find out and who didn’t and she told us! We weren’t actually gonna find out but we are happy we know, and pleased with the result.

We went to IKEA this afternoon, it really is way too dangerous in there!! There was so much stuff we wanted, I’m sure we could have kitted out each room no problem in there, luckily Rich dragged me out in the nick of time. We did manage to get everything we wanted though (and a couple of bits more) So out kitchen will now be full furnished, just gotta get the silver 4 slice toaster and the Brita kettle!

Anyway, after a hard days shopping and visiting I think we are gonna hit the sack, back to work tomorrow (boooooooo)

Six Months

Well this week had more baby stuff, and more house stuff in it. As you will see, on the front page is a link to a new page on the site. Here’s the link again (Click here). This is mine and Nicky’s future humble abode – A gorgeous semi-Tudor looking 3 bedroom semi detached house in the area of Basingstoke. It’s not far from our current abode which means for those of you who know where we are at the moment won’t be too easily confused. For those of you that don’t know where we are at the moment – It’s still not that difficult, so you’ll find it easily enough when the time comes. As for baby this week: Well Nicky had a GP appointment as part of the week to week pregnancy routine as spec’d by the NHS. The doctor was kind of nutty and weird, but cool at the same time…The kind of guy you’d happily take your kids to if they where ill because at least you know they wouldn’t cry, but he’d make them laugh

P.S: Nicky said I’m stealing writing about the doctor guy :-P

Anyway…..The bump is starting to get pretty big now, and it’s more than what you’d say active, because it’s always on the move – I think it’s just constantly hungry (Takes after Dad :-) )

Last weekend was mine and Nicky’s six month anniversary. We went to a nice Spanish restaurant in Basingstoke Town Centre called La Tasca which was very nice indeed. I had alcohol and stuff – Shocking of me I know, and we shared a Piella which was very yummy. The picture above was us before we went out – There where other pictures, but this one was specially commisionned by Nicky herself and I was permitted to display it in public – I was as shocked as you all.
